Eddie Ababio, Boys ECNL Director, Florida Premier F.C.
Eddie Ababio developed as one of the top youth soccer players in the United States, earning recognition as a 2x Parade All-American and representing the United States Soccer Federation U17 Men’s National Team.
His pathway combined elite youth development, high-level collegiate competition, and long-term professional ambition.
Challenge
Like many elite players pursuing professional opportunities, Eddie faced the challenge of navigating:
- the transition from youth soccer to the professional level
- international opportunities
- and the highly competitive global football environment.
Identifying the right development opportunities and gaining exposure within professional club environments were important steps in his progression.
Process
During his collegiate career at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Eddie competed at one of the highest levels of NCAA soccer, helping lead the program to:
- two College Cup semifinal appearances
- and one College Cup Final appearance.
As part of his professional development pathway, opportunities and trial experiences were organized in Germany to provide additional international exposure and help expand his professional network within the global game.

Outcome
Eddie went on to build a professional playing career with clubs including:
- Colorado Rapids
- CD Águila
- Tampa Bay Rowdies
- and North Carolina FC.
Today, Eddie continues to impact the game through player development and leadership as:
- College Director / ECNL Head Coach at Florida Premier FC
- and Boys ECNL Director at Tampa Bay United Soccer Club.
